Day 166, Power Pylon #1
This is the far end of the DC power lines at the Haywards substation. The power comes from the Benmore Dam way down in the South Island, and accross the Cook straight (under sea cable) to here, where it is converted to AC and put into the national grid for use. It is the only one I know of with arms of different lengths. (but you see why)
If anyone can help me with my title typo I will fix it. Can't work it out or find it in my little dictionary :-{
