CCGS Amundsen
CCGS Amundsen is a T1200 Class Medium Arctic icebreaker and Arctic research vessel operated by the Canadian Coast Guard.
It is named after the famed Norwegian explorer, Roald Amundsen; having been the first to transverse the Northwest Passage, way up there in the cold, cold Artctic.
Of note also: the CCGS Amundsen is pictured on the back of Canada's new $50 bill. As with other recently issued banknotes, this one is also made of that polymer stuff and puts to rest the saying, "...hardly worth the paper its printed on."
Oh ya...there's a bird in the photo also.
*Note: all textures my own, unless specifically credited.
