Supermoon Rising
With the next supermoon a little more than a week from now, I thought I'd share this from the last event with the moon rising over the Cascade Mountains and Puget Sound.
I hadn't planned on being out to shoot the supermoon but as the sunset subsided and I was heading toward the car, this couple who had just arrived asked whether I was actually leaving, the moon was about to come up. I had completely forgotten it was a supermoon weekend so I quickly calculated where the moon would rise and set back up and was surprised how bright the moon was through the haze that had set up over the mountains.
The next supermoon is on August 10th. If you pick up the Photographer's Emphemeris you can find your spot.
