RAN RETROSPECTIVE: Feb. 1935, HMAS VENDETTA [I], D69, passes HMAS VOYAGER [I] during exercises off Sydney - Photo Sydney Daily Mail, GKAC.

3280. Seen during torpedo-firing exercises off the NSW coast, HMAS VOYAGER [I]r, D31, is recovering her 'fish' as HMAS VENDETTA [I] steams by.

Of the four RAN V and W Class destroyers only HMAS VENDETTA [left] will survive WWII. Most of the RAN destroyer Fleet were placed in reserve during the great Depression of the 1930s, but this photograph suggests that by early 1935 the V & W Class ships were beginning to re-emerge.

This Photograph appeared in the Sydney Dail Mail on February 20, 1935, and its copyright is expired. It is from the Collection of Graeme K. Andrews, RAN 1955-1968, sent on a private disc, with permission.
