evening light experiment

one evening a few years ago i met an artist at this location ... it's one of my favorite spots along the coast, and is a wonderful place to watch the light play on a cloudy or overcast evening ... he had some charcoal sketchs he was doing while we talked, and then he pulled out some watercolor paint and in a minute the sketch had turned into a moody and almost eerie representation of the changing light.

 

so i've tried an experiment with a ortonized b&w image (see below), and tried to change the light and mood by adding some colors, but not with paint ... just using textures only ... i've used a texture by dyrk wyrst, and a couple of my own cloud textures and tried to create the moody and sometimes eerie light i love to watch at this spot ...
