Rescued Dagri Forest bungalow was among various British Era Forest buildings which got auctioned by Nespak and Works dept. of NWFP, it was built around 1860 AD, and its vistors book told us about various personalities who visited this difficult to reach p
This historic place got auctioned for 120,000 rupees and highest bidder is free to demolish it any time and right now heavy rain fall is stopping him and his crew from reaching there.
This place is located at a day hike ( approx 12 KM ) from Nathia gali.
Height above sea level is 8800 feet.
Please note black stone and lime pointing , and its old Victorian look with roses and trees etc.
After demolition, every thing original will be destroyed and a " new " shiny construction will be an eye sore forever.
Any body who has access to NESPAK offices in Islamabad can ask authorities for Stay orders.
ERRA has NOW decided to retrofit / restore all such buildings , but these buildings have already been auctioned and the contractor has demolition orders in his pocket.
He is desperate to remove wood and black stones from these old bungalows but he could not do that due to heavy snow fall / rain etc. but now as the weather is getting better, he will demolish them as soon as he could.
