Peugeot 505

"The Peugeot 505 is a large family car produced by the French manufacturer Peugeot from 1979 to 1992 in Sochaux, France. The 505 was Peugeot's last rear-wheel drive car.
It was also manufactured outside France, for example in Argentina by Sevel from 1981 to 1995, China, Indonesia and Nigeria."
"According to the manufacturer 1,351,254 Peugeot 505s were produced between 1978 and 1999: of these 1,116,868 were saloons/sedans.
Officially unveiled on 16 May 1979, the 505 was the replacement for the 504 with which it shared many of its underpinnings.
It was originally available as a sedan/saloon, a station wagon/estate, including an eight-passenger Familiale version, were introduced at the 1982 Geneva Motor Show.
The styling, a collaboration between Pininfarina and Peugeot's internal styling department, is very similar to that of its smaller brother the 305.
The original interior was designed by Paul Bracq, generally more well known for his work for Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
It is known as the "Work Horse" of Africa today.
The 505 was praised by contemporary journalists for its ride and handling, especially on rough and unmade roads; perhaps one reason for its popularity in less developed countries."

In the V6, the power steering was speed-sensitive, the central locking doors came with an infrared remote, and the heating and ventilation systems included electronic climate control.

Se presenta en el mercado español y se fabrica en la factoría de Citroën Hispania en Vigo.
1982
Se presentan las versiones Covadonga con motores XN1 y XD2S con superior acabado a las versiones SR y SRD turbo. Modelo de transición entre gamas.

Nueva gama (serie 1,5) Según versiones: Nuevos tapacubos, nuevos tapizados, reloj digital en salpicadero en lugar de analógico, porta matrí-cula trasero color plata, spoiler trasero y faldón delantero, llantas aleación con neumático TRX.
1985
Nueva gama 86 (serie 2). Paragolpes más envolventes, nuevos grupos ópticos traseros, nuevo portamatriculas negro en toda la gama, nuevos faldones delantero y trasero integrados en el paragolpes, nuevos tapacubos, nuevos tapizados y un interior totalmente renovado.

"A lo largo de su vida comercial, el 505 sufrió algunos cambios estéticos, que dan lugar básicamente a tres modelos:
- La primera serie que comprende desde la presentación, hasta los modelos de 1983.
- Una serie intermedia, que vamos a denominar 1,5; que sufrió ligeros cambios, pero lo suficientemente significativos, como para distinguirlos del primer modelo. Esta serie 1,5 comprende los modelos desde 1983 hasta finales de 1985.
Algunos cambios fueron los nuevos tapacubos, nuevos tapizados, reloj digital en salpicadero, porta matrí-cula trasero color plata, spoiler trasero y faldón delantero, llantas aleación, …así como una redenominación de alguno de los modelos.
- Aunque el cambio más importante, se introdujo con la gama de 1986 (a la venta desde finales de 1985), la segunda serie del 505.
Los cambios incluían paragolpes más envolventes, nuevos grupos ópticos traseros, nuevo portamatriculas negro en toda la gama, nuevos faldones delantero y trasero integrados en el paragolpes, nuevos tapacubos, nuevos tapizados y un interior totalmente renovado, así como nuevas denominaciones y equipamientos, además de otros detalles diversos; dando lugar a una gran berlina, al nivel de sus competidores."
