Strobist Lighting 102- 4.1 - Restricting Light

This weeks exercise for the Strobist bootcamp group on Flickr

Had a lot of fun with this, even though I couldn't eliminate all of the light spilling onto my background from the gridded snoot.

I made a black straw gridded snoot c/- instructions here. I went for the 5cm straw version. I ended up taping cardboard on the front of the grid to reduce the spread of the strobe fitting the background.

When choosing my subject, I couldn't go past my 10 year anniversary present from my bride, my Maton guitar.

I used the kids Band Hero drum kit as a cookie from a snooted strobe.

It's mother's day today in Australia, so I better get back to pampering.

BTS setup can be seen here.
