Duvel
Camera: D800 1/250 sec ISO400 105mm lens @ f13.
Strobist. On either side of the bottle there is an A2 white piece of foam core in front of the bottle and an A2 diffusion panel behind the bottle forming a diamond shape around the bottle. An SB-900 is fired at 1/4 power. from from bottle, through the diffusion panel and reflects on the A2 white foam core.
The light from the diffusion panel highlights the edge of the bottle, and the reflection from the white panels lights the label and accentuates the form of the neck of the bottle.
There is a 3rd MK900 at 1/16 power , fired behind and above the bottle which adds some light to the bottle cap, and adds further reflection to the white foamcore panels. The background is a large A1 piece of black paper.
I've been wanting to photograph beer against a black backround for a long time, I tried with a Duvel tulip glass, as the shape of the glass is beautiful, but I struggled to light the beer using a cutout. I'll keep working on that, but wanted to post what I had.
