Carbon Arc says: The ABCs on doors in one colorful compilation. Invest the time to read all the comments for insight into the pitfalls of the US' poorly-developed and -implemented copyright infringement reporting mechanism, causing this member unnecessary grief and the disappearance of many years' worth of statistics and past comments for this photo.

Carbon Arc says: Classic and simple. Please keep in mind it takes many years to become proficient in the mostly manual process of bending and finishing the tubes at the heart of a neon sign, a craft in danger of obsolescence with LEDs making inroads into signage.

Carbon Arc says: I'm amazed by this member's highly creative output, especially on a common disposable object most people don't think of as an artistic canvas. As one reliant on coffee to, well, perk myself up in the morning, the wording is very apropos.

Carbon Arc says: It also makes a great street name! (Actually, I live very close to a major street named Genesee, so I am a bit biased.) An earlier creation from a highly-creative Flickr member in the art of calligraphy. More recent work from this member appears later.

Carbon Arc says: Trivia: The ampersand is a representation of the word "and" in Latin: et. It's interesting how that symbol varies from the familiar, to the historically accurate, and on to the unusual.

Carbon Arc says: More cool 35mm projection equipment logos, this one from the 1940s. This iteration of the logo was used through the mid-1960s.

Carbon Arc says: A preserved example of 1930s art-deco signage at its finest. From an era when movie theatres added synchronized sound with the same fervor as the recent conversion from film to digital projection. For this gallery, this is the last word. (Or maybe not, if I crank out a sequel?)
