So named for their threads along the full length of the shank, configured to mate with a nut or a tapped hole with a matching diameter and thread pitch.

 

These screws are made of a non-magnetic type of stainless steel which makes them impossible to collect with a magnet, unlike typical zinc-plated steel screws.
