A classic seven-ounce (207ml) glass Mexican 7-Up bottle, 1960s.

 

I normally don't collect vintage soft-drink bottles; I picked it up at a garage sale nearly two decades ago with the idea of reselling it on eBay, something I never got around to.

 

Aging brain cells being the fickle things they are, I normally would not be able to pin down the exact date I bought this, which, in this instance, was February 1, 2003. I recall it had to be a Saturday, but then I remembered hearing over the radio the news of the tragic breakup of the Space Shuttle Columbia while I was driving to the garage sale. How I managed to connect those dots is interesting, but a little saddening.
