Northern Cardinal male - High Point North Carolina - South Main # 3
This is Cardinal post day for me just cleaning up some captures I took the last few days. Please dont feel the need to comment on all of these. Look how brilliant the red is on this one and the orange red on the one eating sunflower seed. The female in the pic came very close to me and is a crop only !! This photo of the male is one of my favorites because I have been watching this bird for about 6 months now. He is an orange red color instead of the brilliant red and his mate is a lighter color than the goldish color of some females. When I am at this spot for photography he always comes in from the right area when I call and goes to the Mulberry tree then comes down to eat. This one also has a marking on one side a black patch on his head that may disappear with a molt but so far it has not.
