We walked slowly toward the elevator, cautious at every corner. A gruesome mixture of blood and meat littered the bare floor. I watched in horror as Kate gently stepped over it to push the elevator button. My arms began to shake uncontrollably as fear began to spread throughout my body.
Kate: “Damn, it looks like they’ve been here already. This is disgusting.”
Sergeant Jackson: “Keep your mind on what needs to be done, Kate.”
