Tambogrande is not for sale!

Courageous mango farmers from northern Peru take on corrupt politicians and the global mining industry to save their fragile valley from mining exploration. Farmers developed media savvy techniques, such as marching with mangos and limes held in their proud fists(rather than the usual sticks and stones). The community's innovative methods of media advocacy and non-violent resistance won them admirers around the globe. Their struggle has inspired communities as far away as Guatemala, Indonesia and Ghana. By Malu Cabellos/Guarango Cine y Video
