Cargoes

View On Black and enjoy the first verse of my favourite poem!

The colours of the flower echo the colours in the verse.

QUINQUIREME of Nineveh from distant Ophir,

Rowing home to haven in sunny Palestine,

With a cargo of ivory,

And apes and peacocks,

Sandalwood, cedarwood, and sweet white wine.

John Masefield 1878 - 1967
