Strathclyde Buses C943 J52 GCX
The devastating fire at Strathlcyde Buses Larkfield Depot on 18 May 1992 led to the arrival of a wide variety of buses to replace those lost in the fire. This included a new type to Glasgow, five DAF SB220s with Ikarus bodies, hired from dealer Hughes DAF.
All were mainly used on the 66 group of routes, the first J52 GCX is seen on Cloberhill Road in Knightswood.at the start of the long trip to East Kilbride.
