Cataratas del Iguazú
by Matthias P
There are no words to describe the greatness of the Iguazú Falls. The thundering sound, the mist rising above the Devil's Throat, the endless curtain of waterfalls dropping through tropical rainforest - it's simply magical!
The word Iguazú comes from Guaraní language meaning Big Water. And big it is. Some 300 waterfalls drop down the 2.7 kilometre long edge of the Iguazú river creating mist, rainbows, and excitement among the visitors.
The falls run across the border between Argentina and Brazil. With an average annual flow of 1,700 m3/s the Iguazú Falls are the second largest in the world.
