Today's photo challenge issued by our friend at work was "Reflections".

 

I thought I had that in the bad since I was going to meet up with some friends in downtown Detroit and with rain on the way, I would get reflections galore...

 

Well, due to some circumstances, I had to bail out at the last minute (I know I'm going to regret it) and then I started to get a bit worried 'coz I still had to take a shot and it was already 10 at night... so, thought of doing some macro reflections since it was a bit different and involved some creativity..

 

Soon realized that not having a macro lens or a lens with a shorter focusing distance is a real disadvantage when trying to make images like this.. my long lens has a minimum focusing distance of more than a meter, so getting the focus on the subject in these water beads turned out to be a huge challenge.. and even more with my so called "tripod"..! Yeah, friends really make fun of my tripod...

 

Anyhow, after many tries, I got a shot that turned out to be better than the rest.. still not completely satisfied with the clarity and sharpness, but I'm really tired..

 

So, do I pass the challenge of catching "Reflections"?
