fred two 1

Our landlords at the Gateway Apartments were concerned about us during the pandemic. (Not us, specifically, but their tenants in general, 2/3 of whom are retired.) So they sent around a letter, saying that they would be putting little gifts on our door every few days. If we don't take them inside, they will call or come in to make sure we haven't died.

Anyway, we got our first gift today, and brought it in: a potted plant, with directions. We are actually going to keep it!

By a funny coincidence, it looks exactly like a younger version of Fred, ML's beloved Peperomia. Given to her in 1974, by a college roommate, given away in 1984 because we didn't think it would survive the move New York to Oregon in January. Fred the First was unkillable, and we hope Fred Two will also thrive.
