Churchbridge CHD 612

After an enforced layoff with computer problems let's resume service with something from the Cannock area!

Churchbridge Motor Services operated from premises at Churchbridge on the A5/A34 junction, near Cannock, which were subsumed by road developments as part of general improvements(?) resulting from the construction of the M6 Toll.

One of many deckers operated, CHD 612 was an AEC Regent V with Metro-Cammell bodywork which was new to Yorkshire Woollen District in 1958. Acquired in the early 70s and pictured here in 1973, she stayed with Churchbridge for a few years before withdrawal and sale to Paul Sykes for scrap in early 1976. The replacement was ex-North Western and SELNEC PTE AJA 122B, another AEC but this time a Renown/Park Royal, which has appeared on a few flickr streams.
