The Victorian Statue of Hebe - Sturt Street, Ballarat

This statue of Hebe was a gift to the people of Ballarat and takes pride of place in Sturt Street, Ballarat. Donated by wealthy local gentleman John Permewan, Hebe forms a pair with the statue of Ruth. The white marble statue stands proud on a granite base. It was sculpted by English born Australian Charles Summers (1825 - 1878) and presented in 1899.
