Paddington, Scout and the 2025 Easter Egg Hunt 10.

ROSIE and SCOUT: "Hullo Duckie!"

DUCKIE: "Oh! Hullo Rosie and Scout!"

ROSIE: "What are you doing, Duckie?"

DUCKIE: "What does it look like, Rosie?" *Surprised.* "You really are rater dim sometimes. I thought you of all bears would know. I'm hatching an egg of course!"

ROSIE: "Hatch an egg, Duckie?" *Alarmed.*

DUCKIE: "Of course! I found this poor red egg overlooked by all your bears as you run hither and thither, and I thought it was perfect for hatching!"

SCOUT: "I don't think that egg will hatch though, Duckie."

DUCKIE: "Humph!" *Snorts through beak.* "Well that just shows you how little you know, Scout. I'll have you know that I came from an egg laid by my Mummy, and my Mummy came from an egg laid by Granny Duck!"

SCOUT: "Oh I knew that, Duckie!"

ROSIE: "I think what Scout was getting at, Duckie, is that what you are sitting on is a chocolate Easter Egg, not a real egg at all."

DUCKIE: "What?!?!"

SCOUT: "That's right, Duckie. It's just a hollow chocolate Easter Egg for eating, not for hatching."

DUCKIE: "Don't be such a naysayer Scout! I'm going to try and I'm sure I will succeed!" *Nods enthusiastically.* "Thank you Easter Bunny for my wonderful new egg! I shall hatch it beautifully!"

PADDY: "Hullo everyone and everybear! On behalf of Scout, Cousin Paddington, Bogart, Jago, Daisy-Maud, Rosie, Cornelia, Orson, Danny Boy, Algie, Bertie, Nanuk, Emmett, Edgar, Benjamin, Flock, Sapphire, Pearl, Prince Maurice, Freddy, Duckie, Daddy and myself I would like to wish all of our Flickr friends and followers a very happy Easter! May the day be filled with lots of fun, laughter and a chocolate Easter egg... or two! We are sending you all lots of special Easter big little bear hugs and snuffly kisses!"

Paddy has managed to share my thoughts most eloquently. A very happy Easter to you all!

Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.

Rosie is Scout's cousin, because like Scout, she is a free trade knitted bear from Africa. She was made in Kenya by one of the Kenana Knitters, Martha Wanjira. She is made from home spun and dyed wool. She was a gift to me from two very dear friends, including the one who gave Scout to Paddy.

Duckie I saw when I was at a Sunday market on a stall of homemade knitted and crocheted items. She caught my eye straight away with her happy, smiley face and bright colours. I think she finds life with my bears intriguing and perhaps a little confusing, however she is learning.
