Holiday Greetings to Peter from Scout
SCOUT: "Peter! Peter mijn beste vriend! Paddy, Daddy and I are home from our holiday in the Alpine Region of Victoria! Oh! It was so pretty, and so much fun! We played hide-and-seek in the leaves, Paddy and I kicked a big red ball that is even bigger than Paddy is! I found a magical faerie toadstool, and Paddy and I ran down hills and into Daddy's arms! Those are just a few things that we did! I have so much to share with you mijn beste vriend! The only not so nice thing about our holiday was that you weren't with me. However, you were in my heart, where I always carry you! I love you soooo much Peter! I missed you sooooo much!
I brought back some presents for you. We went to an apple orchard, the biggest in the southern hemisphere, and they had some locally made creamy honey with ginger. I asked Daddy very nicely if I could get it for you and he said yes! You can share it with Oleg, Cuddly Bear, Max, Bernus, Hakus (on the way to Mars), Aunt Lucy, Uncle Paddington, Flikkie, Little Paddie, Little Barry, (not so naughty) Munin, Wim and Freek, Mister Paul and Mummy Marian!
I also found some beautiful feathers when Paddy, Daddy and I were on a walk early one morning. There are four feathers. Two are black and white and two are brown, black and white. I don't know what birdie they are from, but they are awfully pretty, soft and silky. You can pick two and I will keep the two you don't pick.
I also drew a picture for you! Since you couldn't be with me, I had to draw us together. Do you see? That's you on the left mijn beste vriend, and me on the right, playing in the pretty autumn leaves and finding magic faerie toadstools with white spotted red tops! We are both smiling and holding paws! I am wearing my new red winter scarf. There are hearts around us to show that we love each other soooo much! I had to use the Internet on the computer and got help from Google Translate to write what I wanted to say. It says: 'Peter mijn beste vriend, I missed you sooo much! Lots of love from Scout!' I do hope that I wrote it correctly for you!
Now I am home, you don't have to be sad any more! Now we can talk and play together and have lots and lots and lots of fun! My bears Paddy and Scout have made very good friends with two bears in Holland called Peter and Oleg (www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577154558...) and their Mummy (www.flickr.com/photos/66094586@N06/) . Peter and Scout are very similar and have become best friends. Peter and Scout are very happy to tell each other how much they love one another. I think that it is a beautiful friendship, and it makes me very happy.
Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.
