Nurse Paddington and Junior Nurse Scout to the Rescue!

SCOUT: "Paddy! Paddy come quickly!"

PADDY: "What is it, Scout? What's the matter?"

SCOUT: "Paddy! Paddy! Poor Peter was walking around on his stilts and fell over!"

PADDY: "Oh no!" *Puts paw to mouth in concern.*

SCOUT: "Yes Paddy, and he has hurt his legs! Mijn beste vriend is gekwetst!" *Sad.*

PADDY: "Then we best don our nursing outfits, don't you think Junior Nurse Scout?"

SCOUT: "I do indeed, Nurse Paddy!"

PADDY: "I will go and get the first aid kit."

SCOUT: "Good idea, Nurse Paddy! Don't worry mijn beste vriend, we are coming!"

BANG! CRASH! ZZZZIIPP!

SCOUT: "Goodness Nurse Paddy! Whatever was that noise?"

PADDY: "I was just pulling out the medical kit, Junior Nurse Scout, when it fell off the edge of the bench and crashed on the floor!"

SCOUT: "Goodness Nurse Paddy! Is it alright, or does the medical kit need medical attention?"

PADDY: "I don't think so Junior Nurse Scout. Now, let's see, we have bandages, antiseptic cream, tape, clips. Yes! I think we have everything we need to help Peter, Junior Nurse Scout!"

SCOUT: "That's not quite everything, Nurse Paddy!"

PADDY: "It isn't Junior Nurse Scout?"

SCOUT: "No, Nurse Paddy! We need to take lots and lots and lots of big little bear hugs and snuffly kisses to help make Peter feel better."

PADDY: "Well, you had best take charge of them, Junior Nurse Scout, as they are more important than anything in this kit to help speed Peter's recovery!"

SCOUT: "I will! Hoorah!" *Jumps up and down.* "Oh thank you Nurse Paddy! Did you hear that Peter? Stay with Oleg and Cuddly Bear, mijn beste vriend! Nurse Paddy and I are on our way! We are sending lots of big little bear hugs and snuffly kisses to comfort you until we get there! Veel berenkusjes en knuffels voor mijn beste vriend Peter, van Scout!"

My bears Paddy and Scout have made very good friends with two bears in Holland called Peter and Oleg (www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577154558...) and their Mummy (Marian Kloon (on and off)) . Peter and Scout are very similar and have become best friends. Peter fell over on his stilts, poor little bear. (You can see the picture here www.flickr.com/photos/66094586@N06/51113264699/in/photost..., or in the first comment below). So Nurse Paddy and Junior Nurse Scout are on their way to provide medical assistance.

My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.

He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.

Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.
