Sunset Jasmine

I always know when spring is coming because my jasmine plant, which grows the entire length of my property, always bursts into a profusion of buds. As the first flowers start to open with the first flush of flowers the air is filled with their honey perfume.

 

Monday was a very mild and peaceful day and the scent of jasmine was particularly present in the air at sunset when I took these photos.

 

Jasminum Officinale is also known as Common Jasmine, Poet’s Jasmine, White Jasmine, Common White Jasmine, Jessamine, Poet’s Jessamine" "Poets Jessamine, Summer Jasmine and True Jasmine.

 

Jasmine is a genus of shrubs and vines in the olive family. It contains around 200 species native to tropical and warm temperate regions of Eurasia and Oceania. Jasmines are widely cultivated for the characteristic fragrance of their flowers.
