An Explosion of White Ox-Eye Daisies

Who says winter has to be bland? With so many avid gardeners in Melbourne, when I took a walk a few weeks ago on a cool but sunny winter's day, I was delighted by the flowers that were out in profusion.

This included these pretty white ox-eye daisies which had exploded across the bushes in the front garden of an Art Deco bungalow.

Melbourne has been blessed with some beautiful, sunny days this winter, which has made going for a suburban stroll a delight. What surprised me was how many beautiful flowers were in bloom!

Leucanthemum vulgare, commonly known as the ox-eye daisy, oxeye daisy, dog daisy and other common names, is a widespread flowering plant native to Europe and the temperate regions of Asia, and an introduced plant to North America, Australia and New Zealand.
