Floss Mill

This is the Floss Mill,which was built early in the 19th century, it was I think at some time a water mill, as comming of the Trent bank, you could see two large arches, which could have been for the water wheels, it also has a wonderful history, about 1850 when shipping activity up the trent was great, smuggling went on,the owner of the mill built himself a house on Front St and constructed a secret tunnel to the mill ,were many a keg of brandy was landed, and through to the Sailor Boy Inn.
