Absinthe Spoon
Just another still life of cutlery. This is a traditional Absinthe spoon used to properly prepare a drink of Absinthe.
In anticipation of that some people will ask how it is used, I will explain. So the spoon is set on top of a glass and a sugar cube is placed on top of the spoon (Absinthe is bitter and needs the sugar) Absinthe is poured over top of it all soaking the sugar, then you light the cube on fire to carmalize the sugar, when the flames die down you pour ice cold water over it to douse the flame, this also dilutes it (a good Absinthe is 70% alcohol) and turns it a milky green colour., you then stir it with the spoon.
I think I'll make myself one now....
