Turbo Jonez & Reckless Invention
Turbo in glasgow
Turbo Jonez brings you the history of 80’s rap and breakdance. It’s a visual drive-by shooting. It’s an aural bus ride through the linoleum streets of Cardiff. It is the one, the only, Turbo Jonez.
Funded by the arts council in 2007, Turbo blew it all on a ghetto and some well bad Nike trainers with his name on them. With just a fiver left, he bought a knock off PA and got his mate Dai to paint a wicked graffiti across some plyboard he found on a building site late at night.
What you get is a 1000 watt, aerosolic homage to Grandmaster Flash, The Rock Steady Crem, Rick Astley, MC Hammer and Run DMC.
It’s mad, it’s loud and some are saying it’s the funniest thing to hit the street since Rod Hull and Emu. They also say if you remember the 60’s you weren’t there. Well, if you remember the 80’s….
We’re really sorry.
For Rhyll.
