Cricut Cheating with Modeling Chocolate
I don't have a cricut and probably will never be getting one, but every now and then I really, really wish I had one :).
I don't think they work with MC anyway, so I will just suck it up, lol. I didn't think I could freehand cut this out of chocolate so I took a CUDDLEBUG cartridge and used it as an impression matte and then cut it out with an exacto knife. The end result sort of had the same feel as cricut cut images but with more labor....but way, way cheaper (I think the cartridge was around $5.00 with a coupon). The important thing here, is that you cannot just remove the cut item from the plastic matte it is on; it will distort and there goes all your labor. You need to pop it in the freezer for a few minutes and then you can slightly bend the cutting matte and the chocolate will come free and be firm enough to be placed on the cake.
