analog cameras

Just a few of the cams I had been using for the past month and each one is awesome in it's own way. I love the small and light Olympus OM10, really simple to use SLR, the rangefinder on Bessa R3a is just amazingly bright and easy to focus, Leica's shutter sound is so soft and mellow, and so on... Couple of things to bare in mind. First, the Bessa has such a strap mount that you need a bigger lens to keep the camera in balance while hanging round your neck. It can really be annoying when it is constantly flipping. The old 50mm f2 Summicron is really soft on focus wide open and lacks contrast very much. I guess the contrast thing can be good for some stuff, maybe some films have to much contrast and it works well together, not sure what I am talking about here, just guessing... This pics have been shot with a sony a7s and the Voigtlander 40mm 1.4 Nokton at f2. I have seen articles claiming that 40mm lens can not work well with Leica M3 cause Leica doesn't have picture frame for 40mm. I use that lens on my Leica and it works just fine. One could even stick some tape to Leicas screen that brings light fot the outline and shoot just like that and all works well, no need for 40mm frame at all. What you see trough the rangefinder is a bit wider than 40mm if you really stick your eye deep... Soon some pics shot with Leica/Voigtlander combination... Cheers, S
