Mona Loldwoman (Look for the good)
# 2 of 3 Ectoplasm . !! just in time for Halloween
Went downtown to pay a bill. Saw a ‘Ghost Sign’, not a ghost, a faded sign. I had to get That pic.! Three ‘ghost signs’ later, I remembered a photo challenge. Monument or sculpture. Always wanted a photo of this one, we called it “The Ostrich” .
Below, copied verbatim, is The Artists description as shown on the window .
A point of claity; We have a system of underground tunnels in our downtown connecting many buildings. There are entrances on almost every corner. The underground is filled with beautiful art, restaurants, and shops. One never has to deal with the weather. I visited it once 20 years ago. It was beautiful and the city maintains it well, so I’m sure it still is. However, It made me extremely uncomfortable being down there to the extent I Have NOT been back..!! When I stopped to photograph this, I did not realize it was at a tunnel entrance location, let alone “part” of an entrance.

CURIOUS ORGANISM 2009
Double entendre intended.
On one hand, the objective of this piece is to pique public curiosity in the Underground. On the other, the organism exhibits its own tongue in cheek curiosity of the tunnel and its pragmatic element. The organisi’s optic nerves and tentacles explore the underground with multisensory curiosity. Finally the curious organism is innocently captivated, as we are, by irresistible forces.
For the more serious observer, the work is a commentary on the mesmerizing effects of mainstream media, in all its forms, and how the media successfully exploit the natural curiosity and vulnerability of the human psyche.

I have not chop shopped these photos. They are what they are. !! Three of the photos have been enhanced to make what IS THERE easier to see. On those photos, I will have an exact description of what was done to it following the photo number.
Have fun kids, Don’t argue with me, I don't KNOW what it is. And Watch your language.
I am more than happy to share these with skeptics and critiques,
as well as believers.
