Cicada
A Cicada emerges and crawls across the bricks in my NOLA backyard/courtyard in July 2013. Were it not for the attention it garnered from my cat (Boo Radley--possibly seen here: www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151820568764574&set... ) I would have missed it. Thanks to my friend's loan of this magnificent Canon 600mm zoom I was able to keep a close watch on the little fellow. If you look at it full size you'll notice filaments stringing from it's still damp wings.
