Splintered Wood/Shattered Lives

The force of nature's fury (and the government's failure) was evident everywhere in New Orleans in the months after hurricane Katrina's landfall. Multiple houses were forced off of their foundations and shoved into one another in what became a jumble of splintered wood and shattered lives. This was four months after the storm in the Lower 9th Ward.
