In the months following hurricane Katrina's landfall scenes like this seemed to unfold at every turn in the city. Nothing seemed right; the landscape of the city looked war-torn in some areas and just oddly altered in others. This photo, taken in the Upper 9th Ward neighborhood is from July 2006; almost eleven months after the storm.
