Stokes Hill Wharf Function Centre Being Stripped for Redevelopment in March 2016
This cruise ship facility, situated centrally on Stokes Hill Wharf, was completed in 1999. The main purpose of the facility was to service Cruise Ships but was used as a private function centre following the 911 attack in New York. The cruise ships were moved to the adjacent Fort Hill Wharf.
A Bombing of Darwin virtual reality and holographic experience is being built on this site following a successful tender by the Royal Flying Doctor Service. It is planned to open in 2017.
