Mc2 Camryn and Bryden Dolls

I was so excited to find these two lovely ladies! I had seen them online, here on Flickr and I love the fact that they're quite similar to Liv dolls - in stature and their eyes, however they have rooted hair, not wigs. The deluxe line have jointed bodies, while these girls only have articulation at the neck, shoulders and hips. A little something that was odd about them, but quite interesting is that Bryden has feet posed to wear heels or wedges, while Camryn's feet are flat.

One of the things that drew me to this line is the fact that it's promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) to young girls. I think it's an absolutely fantastic idea, even if it doesn't work all that well. If just a few girls can appreciate the Sciences and other areas more traditionally viewed as masculine, it would be great. Girls need to believe they can do just as well, if not better in these fields as their male counterparts. This is something I feel very passionate about, as I'm studying Science (genetics and psychology) at university. If I ever have girls, I want them growing up and admiring powerful women in STEM fields and being inspired by their passion and dedication. These dolls are just a first step, but a step in the right direction.

On a more superficial level, I love how casual these girls outfits are. I would definitely wear what Camryn is wearing, and I love Bryden's jumper. I hope to get the other two girls in the line soon - I found these online at Toys R Us, but couldn't get to a store, so I price matched them at Big W and got them for a good price.
