ok, it all worked out fine, so some notes on the setup/contents:
rear dry bag: holds food - 4 backpacking meals (needed way less)
cook kit - markhill devil stove, small alu pot, plasticware, couple bags of bulk snacks like cashews and apricots
frame bag: 2L platypus big zip bladder, tool kit, first aid kit, stove fuel (canister that screws into stove), extra socks
right mini pannier: pump, battery tube for light, extra light batts, extra headlamp batts, cell phone charger (AA powered), extra AA's, tecnu, sunscreen, hydrocortizone, pack towel, hex set
left mini pannier: snacks (started out with bars, but filled it with whatever i could find during the trip), headlamp, skeletool, bag balm
stem bag: phone, wipes, snacks, toothbrush/paste, more snacks, extra maps, vitamins, ibu profen, electrolyte drops, trash, aquamira purifying drops.
map platform: compass, maps
front dry bag: secured with simple webbing/clips, holds 2 3'x7' footprints, mosq. net, 55+ sleeping bag, 4 alu stakes, parachute cord, plastic hooks, space blanket, flip flops (lashed to front)
mat: cut down about a foot in length and 5in in width, stuffed extra shirt (polartec longsleeve) and soccer shorts. lashed to front dry bag
bars: computer, gloves (when not worn), and homebrew led light
on body thin wool shirt, wool socks (either thin or semi thick), surf trunks, chrome kursk shoes, bern helmet, rubber band wallet
comments: the extra surly endo tube is huge, going to switch to a schwalbe 26x3 to save some space. should have gone with an alcohol stove - mine wigged out last time i tested it and i didn't want to trust it. A water bottle for denautred alc (stove fuel) would have fit the frame bag space better and save weight.
going to reshape the stem bag so it isn't so clunky or re-sew it.
i crashed on singletrack and ripped the velcro out of the frame bag in a couple spots - it stayed put just fine. going to double stitch the bag all the way around - could see some very stressed spots.
