Hoar on the spider's web - Explore

Explore - this photo has been in Explore for 2 yrs and 8mths and suddenly has moved up. How weird. Showing Explore #393 on the 26th Aug 2012

Explore #478 on 27 December 2009; still showing as in Explore 29 January 2010. **

Along the defunct railway bridge which spans the river Lune are scores of spiders' webs.

Following a severe overnight frost, the remains of these webs were covered in the most delicate hoar frost.

With the sun shining on them, and the river as a backdrop, they looked beautiful.

I wonder where spiders go when it is so cold. Do they hibernate?
