B Sharps BlackStar Album Cover

A leaked preview copy of the cover art for BlackStar, the new album by Oman's premier WadiBilly band, the BSharps.

Like Baldrick, the band were quick to Deny Everything.

Simon Blaxtar, who claims to be the drummer but yet is suspiciously absent from the cover, said 'There is no album, there is no cover. In fact, there is barely a band at all.'

He denied having any influence of the choice of album title, and also denied rumours in al-Musikia, the local Music Press magazine, that the choice of cover had led to tension within the band. "Why would I be upset? Who ever heard of a drummer being on the cover of an album?"

A Mr Hodges, the leading instrumentalist and best looking member of the band, according to Mr Hodges, claimed to rather like the cover design, "It's snazzy, isn't it?" He, however, refused to confirm any of the rest of the rumours. He poined out that he wasn't the only band member on the cover, and that if you looked really carefully, you could pick out the blurred outline of of Simeon Keet, the bass player.

A lawyer speaking of behalf of Mr Kent simply said the matter was for the band and their legal council to sort out. He denied that Mr Kelt was upset about the minimal exposure he received on the alleged cover. He added that legal talks had been fruitful and that he himself was on the best of terms with Mrs Hodges and Mrs Blaxtar, the representatives of the other band members.

At this point Mr Kept interrupted. "Anyway, who is to say what 'best looking' is? I mean, who decides that?"

The rest of the interview was mainly taken up by the lawyer trying to calm Mr Kertz down, and repeating the claim made by his client to being the creative force within the band, and that talent was more important than looks anyway.

In a joint statement released by the lawyer and the mothers of the other two members, they denounced the sensationalist gutter journalism behind the rumours and the interview questions, and that the band were due to resolve the arguments they weren't having, and would return to practice as soon as they heard that ginger beer and cookies were waiting on the big amp, and that there were performances arranged for the summer months.

"Also," added Simon's mom, "I'd like to know what's wrong with BlackStar? I think it's a fine name for an album by-"

Wherupon she was attacked by Mrs Hodge and the lawyer and the rest of the interview flew into chaos interspersed with repeated denials about the album, the cover, or band tension.

NB. The BSharps are a really nice bunch who have termendous fun when they play and this whole screed was SATIRICAL. It's meant to poke light hearted fun at one fo my favourite and definitely one of the best bands in Muscat. They really have no problems other than a shortage of venues for live music, there are no plans for an album or a cover, and their moms defintely aren't forcing me to say this.
