Reminiscence To A Boyhood In Dortmund
Some years ago I did a couple of photographs for a friend now living far away from his city of birth, Dortmund.
He told me, he grew up in a quarter typical for the workers in the fifties.
Above you see the crossroad just about 50m away from their small apartment, where he slept underneath the kitchen table.
The street crossing from left to right was called the BoneStreet, as further down the road there was at that time the big meat district with the huge slaughterhouse. Rails in the middle of the road were used to transport all the bones away to another plant.
This was the central meeting point of the boys living there and starting their adventures....
While rearranging my books, I found a box with old polas, I did years ago....strange they disappeared out of my memory....
