Sunrise in Cordillera Huayhuash

One of the many mountain lakes in the Cordillera Huayhuash, Peru: Laguna Carhuacocha, situated at roughly 4100 meters altitude in the eastern side of Cordillera Huayhuash.

The mountains from the right to the left are Jirishanca, Yerupaja chico, Yerupaja and Siula Grande. Yerupaja is the second highest peak in Peru and one of the most difficult Andean summits to climb, with very few ascents in total.

This picture was taken during a 10-day trekking trip circling the Cordillera Huyahuash. More pictures to come!
