Bold Forbes

Bold Forbes was a Thoroughbred race horse from the 1970's

 

Bold Forbes had only a 3 year but successful race career. As a 3 year old colt, Bold Forbes won both the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. He would finish 3rd at the Preakness which would stop him from becoming a Triple Crown winner. Bold Forbes would be named 3 Year Old Horse of the Year that year in 1976 but then be retired. He had career winnings of just over $500 thousand.

 

Bold Forbes was sent to Paris, Ky where he would be pout out to stud. He would produced horses that would total over 300 victories, 30 of which were stakes winners. The offspring of Bolde Forbs would win over $18 million.

 

Bold Forbes would be sent to the Hall of Champions at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky in 1992. He would spend the next 8 years of retirement there before dying in 2000. Bold Forbes was buried there at the Hall of Champions.
