Rudge started as a bicycle manyfacturer circa 1911 and then entered motorcycle production with a 499cc I.O.E. single ) inlet over exhaust single cylinder) machine.
After WW1 they started to poduce many different models, one of their most famous being the Rudge Multi with it's 21 gear options, which in it's day was very advanced.
Rudge also went on to develop many successful racing models during the 1920's and 1930,s.
Rudge had produced machines at their factory in Coventry until 1911 and in the late 1930,s they moved to Hayes in Middlesex but sadly did not survive the war.
