Furka pass, Hotel Belvédère
The hotel was built by Alexander Seiler in 1882 which used to be located right next to the Rhone glacier. Due to the shrinking, it is meanwhile 700 meters away.
The hotel appeared among others in James Bond Goldfinger and features the cover-page of 'Accidentally Wes Anderson'.
Due to low business, Hotel Belvédère was sold by the Seiler family in 1984 to the Kanton which later sold it to the Carlen family. The hotel was reopened in 1990 but closed ever since 2015.
