joining stitch
I like the way the Vietnamese weavers that I spent some time with recently join together large panels of cloth that they weave on their backstrap looms to make blankets and their traditional long skirts. They use a variety of decorative stitches to do this and I wanted to pratice one of them. So I took the plunge and cut this table runner that I had woven some time ago in half and joined the two pieces side by side using the stitch. The piece ended up being wide enough to accommodate my largest shuttles and medium size beaters and so a tool bag was born.
