Epic melodrama from the "pulsating pages" of the MGM Prize Novel by Elizabeth Goudge. The mistaken identity plot moves from Europe to New Zealand and includes a spectacular earthquake sequence. Curiously for an exotic and fairly lavish period picture it is shot in BxW.
