When the Mountain Was High
Hello flickr friends. First an apology as it has been quite a while since I last posted anything. Yes, once again I had some sort of upper respiratory gunk and have been sick since Sunday last. For the first time I am feeling good and so posting for FLI was on the top of my list of things to do. The lyrics from the song "I Knew You Were Waiting for me " by George Michael and Aretha Franklin brought to mind a ton of wonderful images but for some reason the line "When the Mountain was High I Still Believed" really spoke to me. It reminded me of my best friend. She was born with cerebral palsy and must use crutches to get around as her legs simply don't work correctly. For her a narrow flight of stairs can truely be a high mountain but she never lets that get her down. She knows that her disability does not define who she is (and who she is truely is one of the finest people I know). Happy FLI to all my flickr friends and a shout out to my best friend Tracey. =D
