Iris
This is one of the Iris which bloomed in my garden in May. Iris always make me remember my paternal grandmother who was an amazing gardener and especially loved Iris. She would graft them to create new varieties and had one named after each of her grandchildren. This is actually one of those plants which I took from my mother's garden (and she had taken from my grandmother's garden). I'm afraid I've forgotten if it was my namesake, or one of my siblings. As a gardener I'm not even in the same solar system as either my grandma or mother, and sadly I don't get many flowers on these Iris anymore. I really need to dig them up and replant them as the rhyzomes are root bound and other plants are crowding them out. π
